How to become a ride-hailing driver in Pakistan: documents and steps
Driving and earning · Published · 2 min read
If you own a motorbike, ChingChi, car or van and have time to spare, driving with a ride app is one of the simplest ways to earn in Pakistan. Here is exactly what JaldiGO asks for and how sign-up works.
What you need
- Your own vehicle in running condition: a motorbike, ChingChi, car or van. JaldiGO does not provide or rent vehicles.
- A valid driving licence for that vehicle.
- Your CNIC, both sides.
- Your vehicle's registration.
- An Android phone with mobile data, to receive ride requests and navigate.
How sign-up works
Everything happens in the JaldiGO app. Install it from Google Play, sign in, and choose to become a driver. You pick your vehicle type, then photograph your documents, take a clear photo of your face and photograph your vehicle. There is no office to visit and nothing to pay to join.
A person on our team then checks every document by hand. There is no automatic approval. Once you are approved, someone calls you, and you can go online and start taking rides.
Tips for a quick approval
- Photograph documents flat, in good light, with all four corners visible.
- For your profile photo, face the camera straight on; passengers see this photo, so it should show your face clearly.
- Photograph your vehicle from the front and the side, number plate visible.
- Use the same name as on your CNIC.
Which cities?
You can sign up from anywhere in Pakistan. Drivers from Kharian to Karachi are already registering. Ride requests come from passengers near you, so the busiest areas today are around Kharian, Gujrat and Jhelum; in a newer city you will be among the first drivers, which means passengers there have fewer other options.
What you earn
Passengers pay you the fare directly, in cash, at the end of every ride. You see the fare before you accept a request, so you only take trips that suit you. Any JaldiGO service charge is shown in the app before you go online, so you always know where you stand. More in earning with your motorbike and driving your car with JaldiGO.
Common questions
- Do I need to visit an office to sign up?
- No. Sign-up and document upload happen in the app, and our team calls you after checking them.
- Can I drive part-time?
- Yes. You go online when it suits you and offline when it does not. There are no shifts or targets.
- Does JaldiGO provide a vehicle?
- No. You drive your own bike, ChingChi, car or van.
