Bike, ChingChi, car or family van: which ride should you book?

Booking rides · Published · 2 min read

JaldiGO shows every vehicle running near you, each with its own fixed fare, on one screen. That makes the choice easy if you know what each one is good for. Here is the short version.

Going alone, light bags: bike

The quickest and usually the cheapest. Good for getting to work, college, the bank or the bazaar on your own. One passenger.

A few people or shopping: ChingChi

Up to six passengers with shade overhead and room for bags. On JaldiGO the whole ChingChi is yours, so it leaves when you do and goes to your door, unlike a shared one that waits to fill up. Split between several people, it is often the best value of all. See booking a ChingChi online.

Family errands at an everyday price: Economy car

Four seats, no AC. A good choice for the cooler months, a trip to relatives or anything you would rather not do on the back of a bike.

When it matters: Comfort

A roomier sedan with AC, for a wedding, meeting guests at the station or an appointment where you want to arrive fresh.

Everyone together: family van

Seven seats with AC. Weddings, visits to relatives, elders and children in one vehicle instead of two cars. More in booking a family van.

How the fares compare

Each vehicle has its own rate, and every fare is worked out from the road distance and shown before you book. A bike costs the least for one person; bigger vehicles cost more per trip but less per person when the seats are full. Because the app shows all of them side by side, you can compare the real numbers for your exact trip in a few seconds. If no driver is free for the vehicle you picked, JaldiGO offers the others that do have a driver nearby, each at its own fixed price.
