Pay cash to your driver: a ride app with no card or wallet

Booking rides · Published · 2 min read

Most people in Pakistan still pay for everyday things in cash, and many do not have a bank card at all. JaldiGO is built around that: you pay your driver directly, in cash, when you arrive.

How payment works

The fare is fixed and shown before you book. At your destination you hand that amount to your driver. That is the whole payment process. There is no card to add, no wallet to load, no OTP and nothing that can fail because your bank's app is down.

Fares are rounded to the nearest ten rupees, so you rarely need loose change.

Why cash, and not a wallet?

A ride app that needs online payment shuts out everyone without a bank account or a card, and that is a large part of the country, especially outside the big cities. Cash also means the driver is paid the moment the ride ends, which drivers prefer.

Good habits

  • Check the fare on screen before you set off; that is the amount to pay.
  • Keep smaller notes ready for short trips.
  • If anything about the payment does not match the app, tell us on WhatsApp.

Common questions
